We made changes to your alumni email account on 16 April 2020.

We recommend that you read this page and work your way through the checklist below to ensure that you keep receiving messages sent to your alumni email account.

What has changed?

  • The second half of your email address has changed as a result of technical updates to our servers. Since 16 April, your alumni email address is now in the format [CRSid] For example, if your CRSid was abc123, your new email address would be
  • When you want to access your alumni email account on or after 16 April, you need to use your new address. See the checklist below for how to do this.

What stays the same?

  • Your password is the same (it’s your Raven password).
  • Your contacts and any messages in your account will still be there when you next log in.
  • Emails that people send to your address will still arrive in your inbox. They will be automatically forwarded for at least 24 months after the switchover date.
  • Emails that the University sends you will still reach you. If you use your email address to receive University communications, we will automatically update our records to use your new one.

How do I get ready?

Use this checklist to keep seeing messages sent to your alumni email account:

  1. If you read your alumni email using webmail (via, when you sign in you need to enter your new address to access your account. You will see a different University-branded Microsoft login screen but your password remains the same.
  2. If you use a mail app to read your alumni email (examples include: Gmail, Mail on iPhone/iPad, Mail for Windows 10, Email on Samsung devices, Thunderbird), you need to update your settings to use your new email address, in order to continue seeing messages sent to this account. Your password remains the same.
  3. Update your email contact details with any family, friends or organisations that used your address.
